The 2025 ASTA River Cruise Expo: A Travel Advisor’s Perspective
The 2025 ASTA River Cruise Expo was truly one of the most insightful events yet. This year’s expo showcased 16 ships from 10 of the leading river cruise brands, offering attendees an exclusive opportunity to step onboard and experience firsthand what makes each line unique. The ships on display included AMADEUS (Nova), AmaWaterways (AmaBella, AmaLea, AmaMagna, AmaSonata), Avalon (Illumination, Passion, and Impression), Riverside Luxury Cruises (Mozart), Riviera (MS William Wordsworth), Scenic Group (Scenic Opal and Emerald Luna), Tauck (MS Savor), Uniworld (S.S. Maria Theresa), and Viking (Rinda and Ingvi). I was fortunate to stay on the AmaSonta then sail on the Avalon Illumination. Both of these experiences gave me valuable inside perspective and insight.
Beyond ship tours, the expo provided invaluable educational sessions, allowing me to deepen my knowledge of river cruise experiences, ship functionality, stateroom options, and what truly sets each brand apart. Meeting with my local Business Development Managers also gave me direct insight into the latest industry trends and innovations that will shape river cruising in 2025 and beyond.
